Meet Andra Ray, LPC

Andra Ray grew up in Blue Ridge, Texas, a rural north Texas community. She is a graduate of Texas A&M University (BS) and Midwestern State University (MA). In graduate school, Andra gained practicum experience at the University mental health clinic as well as the inpatient clinic at Sheppard Air Force Base. While obtaining her license as a professional counselor, Andra worked at Sharp Focus Counseling in Denton under the supervision of Floyd Sharp, LPC, founder of Irving Christian Counseling.

Andra and her husband Bryan Ray, LPC first opened the practice in 1997 doing business as Ray and Ray Counseling Services. Her emphasis in counseling is cognitive therapy. Cognitive therapy involves recognizing unhelpful or destructive patterns of thinking and reacting, then modifying or replacing these with more realistic or helpful ones. Negatively biased thinking and irrational thoughts are a significant focus in therapy. Andra is credentialed by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors [license number 13713].

Andra and Bryan have two school-age daughters. She enjoys outdoor sports and activities, watching Aggie football, and is involved in various church functions. Andra brings compassion and integrity to Graham Psychological Associates. Andra has experience working with all age groups providing individual, family, and/or marital counseling.
